This Netflix series (also a book of the same name, if you’re not into streaming video) is made up of equal parts travelogue, forensic foodie lore and instructional how-to on a given food. Chef and food writer Samin Nosrat travels the world to explore the four basic keys (Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat) to wonderful cooking, serving up feasts and helpful tips along the way. Her humble style of narration and the camera shots put nearly all attention on the food and the guest experts. We have friends who are now focaccia-obsessed after watching the first episode! Nosrat’s book version is a James Beard Award-winning New York Times Bestseller; she’s also a New York Times Magazine food columnist. Check it out.
