reading glasses on a stack of books

ISSUE #18: A Moveable Feast, by Ernest Hemingway

Hemingway recounts his years as a struggling young migrant journalist and writer in Paris in the 1920s, while he was married to his first wife, Hadley Richardson. Parisian cafes, career alcoholics, and beautiful women are themes laced throughout his descriptive memoir. I was struck when reading it that a man from the Midwest, a war veteran, world traveler (and someone who called some of the most spectacular places in the world home) would ultimately choose to live in Sun Valley Idaho. It speaks volumes. A great winter read.
